Who cares for netart?
LI-MA: Living Media Art
LI-MA is a leading platform for digital and media art in Amsterdam, specializing in conservation and management. This video explores the critical challenges of preserving net art, a vulnerable part of our digital heritage. As digital art becomes integral to museum collections, it faces threats from technological changes and obsolescence. Part of LI-MA’s Collaborative Infrastructure project, the video highlights the need for sustainable preservation practices and aims to raise awareness within the media art community.
For the style of the video, a projector was used to display media art behind the talking head shots. Additionally, motion graphic animations were created in a 90s-2000s web browser style to further engage viewers with media art.
